NANCY UM ON THE MOCHA TRADE

On 12 December Dr Nancy Um gave a talk in which she reflected on the Yemeni port city of Mocha and its history in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, drawing on the research that she conducted for her book, The Merchant Houses of Mocha: Trade and Architecture in an Indian Ocean Port (University of Washington Press, 2009). 2023 BYS Academic grant awarded

The 2023 grant has been awarded to Yemeni scholar ADNAN JAYASH (University of Manouba, Tunisia) who is working on a study entitled Acculturation as a Means of Integration: A Comparative Study of the Yemeni Diaspora in the United States and the United Kingdom .
