Bill Heber-Percy

Aug 5, 2020 | Obituary

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Bill Heber Percy on Sunday 2 August.

n

Bill was the first Chairman of the BYS, during the formation of our Society and for its first several years.

Julian Lush writes:

n

n

Bill, Julian Paxton and I were amongst the small group who were tasked with forming a friendship society with the Yemen back in 1992. We notified everyone we could think of about this intention so that a formative meeting was held early in 1993 to establish the aims and objectives of a Society, adopt its Constitution and appoint its Officers; thus under Bill's guidance the Society began to function.

n

n

Bill was an outstanding Chairman, both in establishing the broad objectives of the Society, in organising its initial activities and in setting the society on track in its formative years. He subsequently kept a close interest in the Society and strong links with the Yemen.

He will be sincerely missed.
