Professor Kamal Abu-Deeb is one of the most foremost Arab literature critics and researchers in the modern era. Born in Syria in 1942, he has numerous publications and has won a number of literary prizes. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Arabic at the University of London, and a Visiting Professor at both the Agha Khan University (India) and the Institute of Ismaili Studies in London.
